Things I Sometimes Wonder
Ina Garten, East Hampton yuppy snob though she may be, is fabulous. I don't care what you say; I love watching her cook beautiful food in her popped collars and pearls. But when I watch, I wonder things...
Do you think she's ever barefoot whilst cooking?
Do you really think she entertains that much?
Does she own any collarless shirts?
Where does she get all those shirts?
Do you think random residents of the East Hampton area get phone calls from Ina's "people" to appear on her show for a staged? authentic? brunch or soiree?
Do you think her food is really even as good as it looks?
Do you think she'd invite me over for one of said brunches?
How much do you think her grocery bill is?
How likely do you think it is that (in all my non-yuppy white-trashiness) I'd ask this if ever invited over?
Yes, I think it is best I watch Ina from the comfort of my couch, eating the drivel I typically eat.

Tisk, tisk! Making fun of the cooking channel elite. I LOVE IT!!! Keep it comin! :)
Personally, I'm a huge Martha-ite. Love her. However, I do have to wonder when I see photos of her and her "dates" at events. They are usually dashing young fellows. Are they hired? Even if they are, I'd say good on ya Martha-you've worked hard and you deserve to be a cougar!!
I love and hate to watch food shows. They make me want to eat that way, which is exciting and depressing at the same time.
I am a big fan of the collared shirt. (Ina's and half my wardrobe, many of which came to me as hand-me-downs from my sisters who said, "This looks like a you shirt to me." Guess I'm a yuppy wannabe nerd.)
(or nerd who wants to be a yuppy, to clarify the murky grammar there.)
SHE ANNOYS THE SHIBY OUT OF ME.
Just saying.
You don't know me at all, I found your blog through Steph Smiley..I just wanted you to know how hard you made me laugh today! I have three little girls and Ina is one of our T.V. staples. (Dora the Explorer is a bit incapable of making decisions for herself)
We were watching the other day, and Ina's token gay flower shop owner (soo cliche) in his pressed chinos and yellow creased shirt, had me laughing as he knew exactly what Ina wanted! What a small world in the Hamptons dont you know?
Anyway, enough ramblings from a stranger...
Love your sense of humor. Thanks for the laughs. Now I'm off to find my own orange roses...
Cute blog! I SO wonder if she entertains THAT much, too! Even though I find her strange and I don't like the way she narrates the show, I like her!
Gotta be honest, I like the other girl more. Can't remember her name though. But I think she usually is AFTER Miss Barefoot who is always "entertaining."
But my all time fav is Rachel Ray.
Hey Brooke, Its Andrea. I love watching Ina and Giada. Ive noticed she has plenty of "friends" out of town (real/fake) and most of her friends are gay. Whats with her husband? Jeffrey, lucky or poor man? He must have quite the appetite all the time. I do like how she is a little bit messy with cooking though. Lets be serious we dont portion food out into pretty bowls when we cook. Love the post!!
